Men R' Cookin' Fundraising Event for Boys and Girls Club
Atlantic City, NJ - Held this year at The Pool at Harrah’s, ‘Men R’ Cookin’ is the largest single fundraiser of the year for the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. Now in its 14th year, Men R’ Cookin’ is not only a fun event that revolves around food and frivolity, but acts as the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, benefiting youth development programs for more than 1,400 school-aged kids in A.C. and surrounding areas. The theme, “Together We’re Cookin’,” symbolizes the Boys & Girls Club, which was in financial dire straits recently until the community came together to ensure that the group was able to continue to provide safe and nurturing environments for the children it strives to help. www.fundraising-ideas.org

The Greasy Spoon Diner Fundraising Series of Events Announced
Save On Meats is launching a pop-up
dinner series called The Greasy Spoon Diner that will match up a guest chef
with a local brewery or distillery for an evening of “diner” food and
fundraising. “A well known and loved
chef will be challenged by one of his peers to come up with a four course
(including desert) Diner Menu,” explains Save On Meats’ Mark Brand. The chef on
the spot will take over the kitchen for the night to cook for two dinner
seatings, which will each have room for 80 guests. There’s one more very important match: The
Chef and the cause. The guest chef will choose from the existing A Better Life
Foundation programs to support, and those program heads will give a brief talk
at both services about what they do. The chef can pick multiple programs,
should he or she choose. www.fundraising-ideas.org

Wags To Riches Fundraising Dinner
Avon, OH - More
than 300 people braved snow and sub-zero temperatures to support The Friendship
Animal Protective League at its Sixth annual Wags To Riches dinner Saturday
night. Make that 300 people, six dogs and four cats. The annual fundraiser has become a key source
of income for the Elyria Township shelter, drawing supporters from all over
Northeast Ohio to pay $80 a ticket for the dinner. Other fundraising events,
including bidding for feline and canine gift baskets, were also featured. The event at Tom's Country House in Avon
raised thousands of dollars which will be used to help the animals. To help raise money, and show people where
their money was going, shelter executive director Greg Willey brought recently rescued
dogs and cats to mingle with the guests. Several of the dogs did such a good
job making friends that they were adopted on the spot. www.fundraising-ideas.org

Lumberjack Quidditch Team Holds Kidditch Fundraiser
Clarksville, TN - The
Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjack Quidditch sport club is
presenting its first Kidditch fundraising event at Pecan Park. Kidditch is an
event aimed at teaching the new generation of Harry Potter fans the game of
quidditch, while raising funds for SFA’s team to attend regionals. “It is a short come-and-go event for children
who have an interest in Harry Potter and want to learn quidditch,” quidditch
club President Morgan McGrath said. McGrath explained how the game will be
played with adapted rules to ensure the safety of the participants. Robert
Arnold, the historian of SFA’s quidditch team, came up with the idea in
mid-January because he knew the team would need to do some fundraising for
regionals. The event costs $5 per child and $15 for a party of four.
Participants will need to sign waivers before engaging in the sport. www.fundraising-ideas.org
