Nepalese Students Host Fundraising Dinner for Earthquake Recovery



Cape Girardeau, MO - Students from Nepal who attend Southeast Missouri State University and Southern Illinois University Carbondale are hosting fundraisers for recovery efforts.  Southeast students will host Help for NEPAL, a fundraising dinner, on Thursday to help support their homeland rocked by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake over the weekend.  The Nepalese Student Association will serve traditional Nepalese food to dinner guests, while providing a backdrop of information about their country before and after the disaster.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Brave "Soles" Required for Fundraising Event



Newcastle, England - Charity Maggie’s is organizing another Fire Walk fundraiser to help raise funds for its center in Newcastle which supports people with cancer and their family and friends. The walk will see brave participants walk over coals that have reached a temperature of 1200°F at the Cobalt Business Park.  Claire Surrey was one of more than 50 who took part in the challenge last year and has already signed up to take part again this year. Hair Donation Ottawa Fundraiser Raises Over $115,000 and 10,000 Inches of Hair



Ottawa, ON - With money still coming in, the organizers of Hair Donation Ottawa say that this year’s fundraising efforts have raised at least $115,000 for cancer research.  They’ve also collected at least 10,766 inches of hair that will be recycled into wigs for cancer patients.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Trout Unlimited Fundraising Banquet



The Mountain Bridge Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its fundraising banquet Saturday at the Mauldin Cultural Center. This is the organization’s primary fundraising event for the conservation, youth education and charitable activities it performs and supports in the Upstate, such as Project Healing Waters for disabled veterans and Trout-In-The-Classroom for K-12 students.  Several items will be up for bid in the live and silent auctions, including fishing rods, reels and other equipment. Entertainment will be provided by Starr Nolan’s “All Strings Considered” bluegrass band. Dinner is included and will feature BBQ chicken and award-winning brisket with all the fixings. Just for Cats Film Festival Fundraising Event Returns



Ottawa, Ontario - The Just for Cats Festival is returning to Ottawa, with a new lineup of cat videos and other cat-related activities, all to raise money for the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. The event will be held in the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park.  There’s also an online photo contest of men and their cats — the official ambassador is Bubbles, from Trailer Park Boys — and it too is raising money to support the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. Dreams for Dean Fundraisng Event



Livingston, NJ — Having already raised $6000 since launching the “Dreams for Dean” fundraising project this month, the Livingston U8 Lady Lonestars travel soccer team is announcing a Dreams for Dean bake sale event at the Mount Pleasant Middle School soccer fields., the second-grade girls will raise money for Coach David Usher and his family. All proceeds will be used to help with expenses related to Coach Usher’s newborn, Dean, who was born four months prematurely and is currently in the neonatal intensive care unit at Hackensack Medical Center.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
