Phoenix Realtor Transformed in Ignite Your Status Fundraising Event
Phoenix, AZ - Phoenix
realtor Brad Speck has performing arts in his bones. Not only does he have a
background in theater and dance, he's also filmed two episodes of HGTV's
"House Hunters," the second of which should debut this fall. Speck is
also active in Ignite Your Status, the community education/outreach effort of
Southwest Center For HIV/AIDS. Ignite Your Status recently had a fundraising
drive tied into National HIV Testing Day 2016. Of eight members, the one who received
the most donations would have to perform in drag at the group's Saturday, June
25, event at Stacy's @ Melrose. Well, Speck won. And here he is, being

One Arm Tied Behind Your Back Fundraising Challenge
East Sound, WA - Janna
Carter opened a can of tuna. Paul Sheridan paddled a canoe. They are both participants in the "One
Arm Tied Behind Your Back" fundraising challenge to raise money for the
Orcas Island Education Foundation. Volunteers are asked to perform an activity
with only one arm, film it and post it on social media. The summer
fundraising event works like this: take a video of yourself doing something
with one arm tied behind your back; challenge friends to make their own
recording; post your video on Facebook and tag it with #HelpOrcasSchools and
#OIEF along with a link so viewers can donate. www.fundraising-ideas.org
Taster's Feast Fundraising Event
Anniston, AL - When
Maudine Holloway looked out onto the crowd at the 30th annual Taster’s Feast
Fundraiser, she was thankful. “I thank
God for the fellowship and the togetherness,” Holloway said. “That’s the
biggest blessing anyone can receive: working together.” Holloway is the director of Community Enabler
Developer, an agency that provides food, clothing and help with utility bills
to those in need in Calhoun County. Taster’s Feast helps support the agency’s
programs. Attendees were asked to donate
$10 at the event to sample food prepared by volunteers from area churches, but
Holloway turned no one away from the event because it’s about more than the
money, she said. www.fundraising-ideas.org
