Tigerpalooza Fundraising Events Raise over $50k for Charity

Norman, OK- Tigerpalooza has become a Norman High School staple, but it has changed its stripes along the way. This year, the annual fundraising event moved from March to October and more events were added.   “It started as a Battle of the Bands, it was small and it wasn’t meant to be a huge fundraising event,” Ellen Melton, one of this year’s Tigerpalooza chair members, said about how the event began.  From there, the event grew to a month of fundraising directly involving around 80 students who raise thousands of dollars raised for local charities.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

No Waste Food Fundraiser called Cocktails & Castoffs

Atlanta, GA - Food waste is a serious issue in the United States with more 20 pounds of food per person wasted each month. That means 30 to 40 percent of our food supply goes to waste.  To highlight the issue, seven Atlanta chefs are challenging themselves to create delicious, innovative dishes with little-to-no waste at a fundraising event called Cocktails & Castoffs, according to a news release.  The 3rd annual fundraising event will support the efforts of Development in Gardening (DIG), an Atlanta-based nonprofit that helps nutritionally at-risk populations in Africa develop sustainable gardening practices and cooking techniques.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Matthew's Angels Fundraising Event for Hurrican Victims

Brunswick, GA - When the Matthew’s Angels fundraising event began Sunday on Sea Island’s Rainbow Island, nearly $30,000 had been raised in ticket sales alone to aid local Hurricane Matthew victims.  Then came the $10,000 donation from the tax firm RSM, sponsor of the upcoming RSM Classic PGA tournament, a matching check from the tournament’s host, PGA Tour pro Davis Love III and a matching donation from Tito’s Handmade Vodka.  With the donations already at roughly $60,000 just over an hour into the event, the live auction started and more money poured in for United Way of Coastal Georgia to give to the local Salvation Army and American Red Cross chapters.  By the end of it all, roughly $100,000 was raised during the event, all of which will go to the local charities to help local victims of the storm. The final amount is still being tallied.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
