Home Tweet Home Fundraising Event for Habitat for Humanity

Boone, IA  - Known for their work to eliminate poverty housing in partnership with low-income families, Habitat for Humanity has their eye on helping a new set of Boone County residents improve their living conditions.  Home Tweet Home is a new Habitat awareness and fundraising event featuring homes for our native bird populations. Some of those houses, however, are likely to be far too nice to make it outdoors.  A main focus of the event will be the opportunity for attendees to bid on and purchase birdhouses specially decorated by each of the Boone County schools plus boosters of Iowa’s public universities.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Salvation Army Kicks Off Kettle Fundraising Season

Muscatine, IA — The Salvation Army of Muscatine held its annual kettle kickoff fundraising event on Friday at the Salvation Army headquarters in Muscatine.  “Every year we have a theme,” said Lt. Brook Lopez of the Muscatine Salvation Army. “This year it’s ‘Be the Shield’ and we really want to encourage people to wear their favorite superhero cape while they’re out there ringing the bell.”  At the kickoff event, Lopez announced this year’s fundraising goal: $180,000, which constitutes almost half of the Salvation Army’s yearly budget. Last year, she said, the organization reached its $165,000 goal.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Duct Tape Fundraiser for Child with Cancer

Addison. MI — Addison Elementary School students on Tuesday helped raise nearly $500 as part of ongoing fundraising efforts to help a local 3-year-old boy in need of a new liver.  Elementary students paid $1 for a long strip of duct tape to stick Addison Elementary Principal John Williams to the elementary gym wall during an assembly. The money raised will assist Callen Hall, who is battling hepatoblastoma, a form of pediatric liver cancer. Hall is the son of Rebecca Wipp, a 2000 Addison graduate.  Each year, Addison students, through the student council, hold a “Pennies for Patients” fundraiser to benefit children with illnesses. Hall was chosen because of his connection to Addison.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Ontario Teen Holds Fundraiser for Flood Victims

Successful Fundraising Event for Valley Humane Society

Pleasanton, CA - The third annual fundraising event, Party for the Pooches, to support Pleasanton-based Valley Humane Society was held on Saturday at a private residence in Pleasanton. The best was saved for last, when scrumptious desserts were auctioned off as part of the event’s much-anticipated live auction.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
