"Derby Day for the Markay" Fundraising Event



Jackson, OH - The Southern Hills Arts Council’s Evening with the Arts event is their annual fundraising event, which benefits the programs and projects of the Southern Hills Arts Council and the Markay Cultural Arts Center, will be held at their new location at the Jackson YMCA. The theme of the event is “Derby Day for the Markay”.  Committee members explain that this is an informal event, however those attending are encouraged to wear their derby attire. Ladies are especially encouraged to wear their derby hats. There will be a contest for the people’s favorite, with a prize being awarded.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

DVAC Art Auction Fundraising Event



Dayton, OH - It’s time to celebrate some of the best local art — and an organization dedicated to sustaining it.  Dayton Visual Arts Center is presenting its 22nd Annual Art Auction Fundraising Event on Friday at The David H. Culinary Collage Fundraising Event for Fletcher Place Community Center



Indianapolis, IN - Take a bite out of poverty! This year’s 7th Annual Culinary Collage fundraising event is bigger and better than ever. The event helps support Fletcher Place Community Center, which provides needed services to families on the near southeast side of Indy, including the Historic Fountain Square area.  So come celebrate food, family, and fun on Sunday at the Biltwell Event Center. Creative Clay Joins Give Day Tampa Bay Fundraising Event



St. Petersburg, FL - Art-therapy group Creative Clay announced Monday it is joining in on the third annual Give Day Tampa Bay, a 24-hour fundraising event designed to boost philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area.  Creative Clay aims to make the arts accessible to people with developmental, physical and emotional disabilities, as well as people in health care settings, children and veterans. The group also provides outreach art experiences in the community.  The group will raise funds jointly with Community Action Stops Abuse, or CASA, on Give Day. The two organizations will hold a raffle at Green Bench Brewing in the EDGE District of St. Petersburg, tickets can be bought for a $25 donation.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Power of the Purse Fundraising Event Rasies Awareness and Funds for the Homeless



Traverse City, MI -- Dozens of people filled the Traverse City Opera House to help raise money for those in need Saturday.  The annual Power of the Purse fundraising event benefits the men, women and families at the Goodwill Inn in Traverse City.  Between a silent auction and donations being made, organizers hope to raise thousands from Saturday's event to go toward the program which provides emergency shelter to homeless adults and families during difficult times.  The event encourages people to look at what is in their purse and relate that to what might be in the bag of someone who is experiencing homelessness.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

GAB Fundraising Dinner to Bring Awareness to Bullying



Milwaukee, WI —A Milwaukee County organization is bringing awareness to curb bullying.  GAB, short for Generations Against Bullying, hosted its annual fundraising dinner and auction Sunday.  The organization aims to reduce bullying by changing the culture of learning.  Teri Jendusa Nicolai, a Racine County woman who was once beaten and left for dead by her ex-husband, was a guest speaker at the event.  She said both bullying and domestic violence stem from a lack of self-esteem. www.fundraising-ideas.org
