Amman Valley, South Wales
– Local fundraisers are once again promising a barrowful of laughs ahead of
their annual wheelbarrow race. The wacky
racer-style event is set to take place on Saturday and will see teams of two pushing each other
in a wheelbarrow through the Amman Valley, stopping off in the local pubs to
raise cash for charity - and replenishing vital bodily fluids. The race began in 2007, when a group of Amman
United youth team players were looking to do something fun for pre-season
training. The charities to benefit this time around will be Glanaman
youngster Hannah Poole and Latch - the children’s cancer charity, Help for
Heroes and the NSPCC.
