— Here’s a fun fundraising event for all you cat and dog lovers out there. What’s greater than seeing a dog or cat in a
Halloween costume? Seeing that dog or
cat in a Halloween costume and knowing you have the opportunity to adopt that
animal. In an effort to raise funds, the
Harlingen Humane Society will host Barktoberfest a week from Saturday. Proceeds from the event go directly toward
the animals and the shelter. Tickets are
$10 if you buy them ahead of time, and $15 at the door. Shelter officials expect more than 600 people
