Hurricane Matthew destroyed churches in Les Cayes, Haiti, structurally, but not
spiritually, Roman Catholic Cardinal Chibly Langlois told a sizable crowd at a
fundraising event at the Icona Golden Inn Sunday. While the need is serious,
the $100-a-plate event was not, with an extensive buffet, an auction and a
display of friendly rivalry between Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi and Sea Isle
City Mayor Leonard Desiderio. Both men presented the cardinal with keys to
their cities, although Desiderio said his actually worked, and would allow for
