Manlius, IL
— Ping pong balls rattling in a cage, bidders waving fans, tables of friends
breaking out in applause and laughter — these are some of the sights and sounds
of a Quarter Mania fundraising event. On Tuesday Bureau Valley High School will
host such an event to raise money for Renaissance, the school’s incentive
program, specifically toward the cost of attending the 2015 national convention
in Florida. Quarter Mania is a new
fundraising event that is catching on across the nation. People buy bidding numbers, and as items are
put up for auction, they bid to win them by placing one to four quarters in the
container on their table. A winning number is drawn from the cage, if that
person bid, then they win the merchandise. Numbers will be drawn until a winner
is found. Bidding numbers sell for $5 for one, $8 for two, or $10 for three. www.fundraising-ideas.org
