Jamestown, NY -- Four fundraising
events are in the works to help boost the finances of the James Prendergast
Library. This comes as the library faces a growing budget deficit.
The library's board of trustees originally
planned to sell library-owned works of art to solve the financial problems, a
move that was met by public outcry. Now they're hoping to raise funds through a
gala dinner, a read-a-thon, a locally produced art auction and a smaller event
at a local establishment.
