Fundraiser to Benefit Terminally-Ill Boy

Tsawwassen, BC, Canada - A fundraiser will be held at Memorial Park on Tuesday to help support the family of a terminally ill boy. Activities will include a bike, walk and run event as well as softball. The fundraiser is benefiting the family of Javan Welfing, a six-year-old who has a brain tumour. His dad is a Tsawwassen-based employee of B.C. Ferries. There will also be kids’ activities, donated prizes, raffles, a dunk tank and a salmon barbecue.  www.fundraising-ideas.org 

Fundraising Event to Benefit Air Ambulance Service

Andover, UK - Two sisters who wanted to say thank you to the air ambulance service that airlifted their father to hospital in an emergency, collected more than £1,700 in a six-hour fundraising event at Tidworth’s Royal British Legion Club. We organized something last year and wanted to do so again this year.   “The event on Saturday was really busy and well supported with many stalls and lots of people. Mayberry Deputy to Appear at Fundraising Event

Sulphur, LA - This year marks the Sulphur Police Department’s 60th, and the Friends of the Sulphur Police will be celebrating that milestone in their upcoming annual fundraising banquet. The Friends of the Sulphur Police is an organization dedicated to assisting officers with the department in receiving equipment necessary for training and personal safety, and the annual banquet helps the group raise funds for their cause. Handbags for Hospice Fundraising Event

Muskoka, Ontario - High fashion and community spirit came together as more than 400 people turned out for the second annual Handbags for Hospice. Held at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn, the event served as a fundraiser supporting programs and services at St. Joseph’s Hospice. The hospice provides compassionate care and companionship to palliative and bereaved individuals and families. TV Star Promotes Teen Reading at Fundraiser

Tempe, AZ - Nathan Fillion may very well be the friendliest, most unpretentious spaceship captain, mystery-solving author and science fiction heartthrob in the known universe. The “ruggedly handsome” star of TV’s “Castle” was the delight of fans as he headlined a fundraiser on the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, June 7.  The “Serenity, Softwire, and the Science of Science Fiction” event, benefiting the ASU Department of English and advertised as an “intimate evening for a small group of 50 people,” included considerable face-time with Fillion, who in-person proved surprisingly similar to the witty, charming and compassionate characters he plays on television and in film.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
