Design Challenge Part of Fundraising Fashion Show

Toronto, ON - Students from colleges and universities across Toronto are bringing sexy to scrubs.  The Fabricland Scrubs Design Challenge, a part of North York General Hospital fundraiser The Heart of Fashion, will see participating students rethink traditional hospital scrubs, adding an element of haute couture to the utilitarian garments. The Heart of Fashion has served as a key fundraiser for North York General Hospital for years, but this year marks the first time the design challenge will be rolled out. www.fundraising-ideas.org

Skateboarders Hold Fundraising Event to Build Saketepark

Redlands, CA - Skateboarders in Redlands Sunday kick-flipped until their wheels fell off — all in the name of fundraising.  The Friends of Redlands Skatepark held its first fundraiser at the Five Ten Factory Outlet in hopes of bringing a place to permanently “shred” in the city.  To house the event, the factory store transformed its back lot area into a makeshift skate park, complete with ramps and grind rails for skateboarders to showcase their tricks.  A beer garden and live entertainment helped draw in guests, raising thousands in support of the group’s efforts.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
