Washtenaw County, MI - This past week,
Washtenaw County young athletes made big waves in their respective
communities. Five local teams hosted events and set new fundraising
records for the American Red Cross’ annual Swim-A-Cross Plus events.
Together, their 352 athletes raised more than $46,000 by swimming,
diving and playing tennis. Swim-A-Cross Plus is a series of fundraising
events sponsored by the American Red Cross and scheduled from June
through September. The fundraiser allows young athletes to participate
in sports they enjoy while supporting the critical life-saving programs
