world’s fastest marching band is hoping to win another accolade – this time for
its quirky method of fundraising. The
Huddersfield Marathon Band, which holds the world record for the fastest band
to complete a marathon, has been shortlisted for Just Giving’s Creative
Fundraiser of the Year award. The 31-strong marching band completed the 2014
London Marathon in 6:56:44 to regain the world record for ‘the fastest marathon
by a marching band’. In the process the band raised £68,000 for Sense, a
