Battle of the Bars Fundraising Event

Newark, NJ - The Greene Turtle edged out seven other restaurants at the annual Battle of the Bars fundraiser, which raised a record $22,173 for the Newark Police Department K-9 Unit.  The event was held Friday evening at the University of Delaware’s Courtyard Marriott hotel. Eight downtown bars – Caffé Gelato, Catherine Rooney’s, The Deer Park Tavern, Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen, Greene Turtle, Grotto Pizza, Stone Balloon Ale House and Taverna – faced off in a friendly competition to see which one could raise the most money for charity. All tips and drink sales benefited the K-9 fund, which is entirely funded by public support.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
