Pay it Forward Fundraiser to Feature Tipsy Texan Cocktails

Austin, TX - If you're going to throw a great party, you definitely need great drinks. David Alan owns the Tipsy Texan, a company that develops specialty cocktails for businesses, individuals and special events.  Alan and his company will be helping serve drinks at the fourth round of Pay it Forward with Daniel Curtis, an annual fundraiser that helps promote awareness about spinal cord injuries.  Curtis himself worked in the food and beverage industry before suffering a spinal cord injury about three years ago.  "While I was in the hospital, the local culinary community rallied and threw this great fundraising event for me," Curtis said. "It was such a success that we said, 'Let's do it again,' so now we're raising money for other people." Pay it Forward works with the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation to help others. Money raised will help pay for medical bills, therapy, rehabilitation equipment and other needs for people with new spinal cord injuries. www.fundraising-ideas.org

Wiffle Ball Tournament Fudnraiser a Success

Easton, MA - Three years ago, when Mary Waldron was looking for a fundraising event to bring together family and the community in memory of her late husband, John, a friend suggested a Wiffle ball tournament.  It was easy to organize, it was inclusive, and it took less than a month to pull together the first annual John. A. Waldron Wiffle Ball Tournament. “With Wiffle ball, I can pool together 10 bats in the snap of a finger,” said Mary Waldron, who had been considering a more involved event like a golf tournament.  The event has grown each year, 38 teams of at least 10 people each a week ago. The third annual event, held July 26, drew almost 1,000 people to Campanelli Stadium to watch, play or volunteer. It also raised $17,500 for the “Just Checking In” Fund, named for a popular John Waldron expression.  www.fundraising-ideas.org

Fourth Annual Bad Art by Good People Fundraising Event

Shelby County, OH - Gateway Arts Council announces the fourth annual Bad Art By Good People fundraising event. This is a light hearted election for the arts. Twenty-four local personalities have been given a blank 16 x 20 canvas and partnered up with a professional artist to create a piece of art. Artists from Anna, Botkins, Fort Loramie, Jackson Center, Russia and Sidney will not only be creating art, they will be fighting for your votes. Gateway Arts Council Executive Director Ellen Keyes said, “We wanted to have an event that brought art to everyone and illustrated that everyone has creativity in them.”  Once all the artwork is completed (Sept. 1) the election process begins. This election however will be like nothing you have ever experienced before. There may be scandals, information may be leaked and many other election no-no’s. Every member of the community is encouraged to vote and vote as many times as they’d like. Voting will cost $1 per vote and anyone can vote. There are no restrictions on age, geography or number of times you can vote. All of the proceeds from the election go to helping Gateway Arts Council provide quality artistic experiences and entertainment to Sidney and the Shelby County community.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
