Wheelchair Basketball Fundraiser

Lowell, MA - The UMass Lowell athletic department teamed up with the Physical Therapy Club on campus to host a basketball fundraiser for the New England Blazers, a local professional wheelchair basketball team.  The event raised approximately $1,000 to help the Blazers pay for their travel expenses within and outside the New England area. The event also promoted awareness for individuals with disabilities.  Student-Athletes from various UMass Lowell athletic teams, and members of the Physical Therapy club got in their own wheelchairs and split playing time against the Blazers at the Campus Recreation Center.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
