Montclair, CA - The Montclair
Film Festival board wanted to go bigger. The annual pre-Oscar fundraiser has
always been a success, but relatively small and with primarily the same crowd
in attendance. Heading into its sixth year this spring, members of the
festival’s board wanted to branch out. Executive director Tom Hall suggested a
tribute band, The Loser’s Lounge, that could perform. Soon, the '80s theme was
established. “We thought how fun it would be to do an '80s night,” said
Colbert. “That kind of resonated with a lot of us who are in our mid-life,
shall we say, and look back on the '80s fondly.”
