Saline,
MI — Harvest Elementary School Principal Betty Leacher got several pies to the
face as part of a contest held at the school.
The assembly was the end result of the school’s Parent Teacher
Association fundraiser, the Fun Run, which raised more than $20,000 this year.
Students who raised $50-$99 were able to toss a plate fun of whipped cream at
Leacher during the assembly. Those who raised more than $99 were able to smush
it in her face. During the Fun Run, students walked, ran and danced their way
outside on the school’s walking track and basketball court. The school’s music
teacher, Mrs. Dana, and Ms. Collins, the physical education teacher, taught the
students several dances including the Cha Cha Slide, the Macarena and the
Chicken Dance and the Hokey Pokey. Senora Peplinski, the school’s Spanish
teacher, had all of the students sing songs they had been working on in the
school’s new Spanish program. www.fundraising-ideas.org
