Pittsburg,
KS--- Dozens of people fill a
Pittsburg bank for a good cause this evening. Members of the Southeast Kansas
Symphony used their musical talent to raise money for the organization at a
fundraising event held at Arvest Bank. The group is made up of musicians of all
ages who perform for the community throughout the year. Organizers say the
funds raised through the event will help the group reach a higher potential."Eventually what we're getting is to be
able to get funds to really bring in artists, you know first world artists. For
example, this semester, this year we're bringing in Mark O'Connor in
April," said Raul Mungia, SEK Symphony Director. Those attending paid $20 a ticket to
enjoy the music, food and drinks.
