Abu Dhabi, UAE - Abu
Dhabi will be hosting the annual Terry Fox Run for the 19th consecutive year on
the Abu Dhabi Corniche under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al
Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE. Since the first Terry
Fox Run was held in the UAE in 1995, the event has managed to raise around
AED15 million, and has financed 42 cancer research projects. The projects are
conducted at different universities, hospitals and institutes across the UAE in
cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the UAE
University in Al Ain. This year at the event, the Committee will be celebrating
the completion of the four projects that have been funded over the past three
years (valued at AED1,189,000) by presenting the researchers with a final check
