Longview, TX - As
about 200 runners took off Saturday morning from Stafford Fitness on Loop 281,
David Hernandez was clearly visible. Dressed as a “German lederhosen,
wig-wearing man,” Hernandez was one of the first 5K runners to complete the
Junior League of Longview’s fourth annual Monster Dash Fundraising Event. “It’s
just fun man,” Hernandez said. He said the costume and blonde-flowing wig
helped him run better.“Aerodynamics is
for sissies,” he chuckled.The Monster
Dash, which traditionally brings in about $10,000 for the nonprofit
organization, and the third annual Rising Out of the Thicket Zombie Fun Run and
Walk at McWhorter Park gave dressed up and exercise inclined Longview residents
plenty to do Saturday. www.fundraising-ideas.org
