Shop With a Cop Fundraising Kick-Off

Deming, NM - Jenny Cowles is credited with rounding up Kmart employees back in 1992 and orchestrating a community fundraiser that is now known as Shop With A Cop in Deming.  The premise of the program is to raise money through year-long fundraisers and donations to afford children the opportunity to shop with a member of local and area law enforcement, including firefighters and emergency first responders. Many of the children who participate in the program may only have the Shop With A Cop gift as their lone holiday present.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
