Pueblo, CO - The
earsplitting sounds of truck horns and high-pitched emergency vehicle sirens
echoed across the Colorado State Fairgrounds for a 4-hour period Saturday
afternoon, as thousands gathered for the 4th annual Touch a Truck fundraising event
hosted by the Junior League of Pueblo.Kids
of all ages wandered the southwest portion of the fairgrounds with their
parents in tow, inspecting the novel vehicles and excitedly honking each horn.
The fundraising event had the dual purpose of raising money for the Junior
League -- a nonprofit organization committed to promoting volunteerism and to
improving the community through the effective leadership of trained volunteers
-- as well as bringing kids together with first responders and city workers. www.fundraising-ideas.org
