Lane
County, OR - At FOOD for Lane County’s annual fundraiser, Chef’s Night Out,
which celebrates 25 years April 7 at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts,
it’s important for attendees to prepare ahead of time: wear loose clothing and
comfortable walking shoes, and for goodness sake, keep lunch light and skip the
afternoon snack — you’ll need the room.
Once
at the event, attendees should pace themselves. Here, more than 50 restaurants,
caterers, wineries and microbreweries bring their A-games to the tables, vying
for “Best Bite” awards. Table after table, on all levels of the Hult, is decked
out with delicious savories and sweets.
The purpose of the event, of course, is to
raise money for the second largest food bank in Oregon. The event has raised
more than $1 million for hunger relief in Lane County. That’s the power of
fundraising.
