Jacksonville, FL - This
year, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis will be spreading the
word in Northeast Florida about its mission.
A gala will be in St. Augustine April 23 and a walk/run in Jacksonville
in September. The events will give area
residents "an opportunity to be a part of a national movement to help end
childhood cancer on a local level," said Marie L. Lofton, St. Jude's
Tallahassee-based Atlantic Coast liaison.
The money and public awareness raised at the events, she said, will make
a "difference ... in the lives of our St. Jude patients, some of whom are
