Wollongong, Australia - Santa
Claus Pub Crawl for Charity organizer Neil Webster says he hasn't had any
police trouble during the iconic fundraising event's 20 year history.
"It's hard to get into a fight when you have 500 guys dressed as Santa
Claus standing behind you," he says. "Now the event has grown you
have closer to 5000 Santa Clauses behind you."
To say the event is popular is an
understatement - Neil says he's had almost twice as many enquiries, phone calls
and traffic on his Facebook page this year compared to last, to the point where
he thinks 2013 could attract 10,000 people. Last year they raised over $45,000,
all of which they stipulate must be spent on charities in the Illawarra region.
