Salt Lake County, Utah — Salt
Lake County Animal Services had “Santa Claws” on hand Saturday for a
fundraising event. Sandy Nelson of Salt Lake County Animal Services said
shelter workers donned the guise of Santa and his helpers, and the proceeds
from the event will go toward the shelter’s needs.
“Santa Claws and the elf are actually our
animal control officers,” she said. “So they are part of our staff. They asked
if they could be Santa Claws and the elf, and they’re doing a great job.”
Officials said the shelter can always use donations of dog and cat treats, pet
food, blankets, and laundry detergent. They also accept monetary donations.
