South Tyneside, UK - A fun day showcasing the best
of South Tyneside’s independent businesses is aiming to raise funds for a
seriously-ill youngster.Natalie McKee is bringing together 15 people who run their
own businesses for a fundraising event at Jarrow Civic Hall, on Saturday, in
aid of Kian Musgrove. The two-year-old
is battling neuroblastoma, and doctors have told his parents, Kat Musgrove and
Sam Gordon, originally of Jarrow, that he only has a 50 per cent chance of
survival.Even if Kian’s current
treatment regime, including surgery and chemotherapy, does work, there is an 80
per cent chance of a relapse.A fund has
been set up in a bid to raise £250,000 to pay for possible further medical
help, only available in the US. Saturday’s event will see all those businesses
involved donating a raffle item, with monies raised going to Kian. www.fundraising-ideas.org
