March for Babies is March of Dimes' Signature Fundraising Event

Round Rock, TX - The March of Dimes’ signature fundraising event, March for Babies, is this Saturday and for the first time will be held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, moving from its past location at Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin.  The 2012 March for Babies event raised $106.2 million nationally for March of Dimes, according to Peggy Tice, office manager for March of Dimes in Austin. She said the Texas walks typically raise 10 percent of the total amount raised nationally.  76 cents of every dollar raised goes toward March of Dimes research and advocacy programs to end premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.  She said the event draws both those who are walking in memory of a child and those who are walking in celebration of their child’s recovery.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
