U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year Fundraiser

Naracoorte, South Australia - With two weeks of fundraising still to go, Kendy Tuohy and Ashlyn Sanford have already raised more than their initial goal for the Leukemia Foundation. The Kincraig Hotel bartenders are vying for the title of "U.G.L.Y Bartender of the Year" and held their major event last Friday. Local identity Lawrence "Tubby" Munn was caged up in a pen and pelted with water pistols and balloons, there was a barbecue dinner and then an auction in the evening.  The running total is nearly $11,000.  Another local character, Bob Norton's stomach was waxed and after someone generously put in a bid of $450, "Tubby's" hair was shaved off.  Every $80 raised through "U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year", which is an acronym for "Understanding, Generous, Likeable You", gives a regional family a place in the city to call home for a night during their cancer treatment.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
