Hervey Bay, Australia - After
losing his father to Motor Neurone Disease, Hervey Bay's Steven Podd is
determined to make life easier for others. Yesterday he met with Motor Neurone Disease
Association Queensland chief executive Cheryl Miller and councilor Darren
Everard to officially launch a raffle that will raise both awareness and funds
for the cause. "My goal is to
raise $10,000 plus for the Motor Neurone Association Queensland, specifically
to go towards purchasing communication aids," he said. "My dad died of MND two- and-a-half years
ago and at the time there was no communication aids available like there is
now." Mr Podd said there were 2000
tickets up for grabs and people had the chance to win more than $4000 in
donated prizes. www.fundraising-ideas.org
