Ligonier,
PA - On the dead end of Walnut Street
in Ligonier, a replica Forbes Field now stands that will house the 7th Annual
Wiffle Ball Bonanza this Saturday. Inspired by Bill Mazeroski's famous 1960
World Series clinching home run, Bishop McCort graduate Zach Freeman decided to
take his yearly fundraising event to a new level, by building a miniature,
one-third scale version of Forbes Field. Freeman started the Wiffle Ball
Bonanza as a way to have fun with friends and family in the summer, but turned
the event into a way to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation. Last year's event raised more than $2,000 and Freeman is expecting
an even bigger amount this year. www.fundraising-ideas.org
