Annual Howl O'Ween Fundraising Event

Evansville IN - This afternoon marked the 2nd Annual Howl O'Ween at Oak Hill Cemetery.  For a $5 donation, you and your four-legged buddy could take the pet historic walking tour. And you take part in the dog and cat costume contest with celebrity judges including Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Eyewitness News' Jordan Vanderberge, and his dog Moxie. All donations went to the Spirit Medical Fund."A lot of folks don't know about the Spirit Medical Fund," said Superintendent of Cemeteries Chris Cooke. "Spirit was found burned and abandoned right here at Oak Hill Cemetary 14 years ago this Halloween. The Spirit Medical Fund was created because Evansville is a very caring community, and they donated in to make sure Spirit got taken care of. So, they took the leftover proceeds and created the Spirit Medical Fund to kind of remember Spirit. It doesn't matter the dollar amount we make, as long as we raise awareness for this fund and let folks know that it's out there and exists, they can donate to that fund 365 days a year. We just wanted to help create awareness with our dog walk today."  www.fundraising-ideas.org
