Elgin, IL - Shortly
after the second period bell rang Friday, students at Streamwood High School
had one thing in mind: donate. For
exactly one minute, hundreds of students donated money for Houston schools.
Streamwood High teachers and administrators called it a "Miracle
Minute." It was one of several
fundraising efforts throughout School District U46 the first full week of
September in hopes of assisting victims of Hurricane Harvey. Local school
districts, local colleges, and libraries are finding ways to assist as the
region recovers. And as Hurricane Irma
now threatens another part of the U.S., efforts in and around Elgin may
continue beyond this week. www.fundraising-ideas.org
