City Council member and civic leader Juan Rivera said 83 percent of Puerto Rico
is still without power and water and residents have to walk a distance
comparable to walking from Killeen to Belton to obtain buckets of water. Rivera, members of the Hispanic-American
Chamber of Commerce Central Texas, and other volunteers will present a
fundraising event for Puerto Rico’s hurricane victims and Mexico’s earthquake
victims called Together for a Cause on Saturday at the Killeen Special Event
Center. More than 20 entertainers are
lined up for the event which will also include a car show, food, alcohol and
