Mayor Dave Casebolt announced the launch of the Greater Nitro Youth Foundation,
and its biggest fundraiser. Most of the
schools in Nitro and Cross Lanes, along with youth baseball, midget league
football, scouting programs and other youth programs in the areas, are part of
the initiative. Officials also announced
the foundation’s largest fundraiser will be a giveaway event, the BoomTown
Bash. Nearly 100 prizes will be given
away throughout the day at the Bash — with a drawing every five minutes. Prizes
include cars, a boat, a motorcycle, guns, vacation packages and cash. The final prize drawing of the day will be
for a 2018 BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe or $50,000 cash. There will also be a
