Wilmette Officers Take Polar Plunge in Fundraiser for Special Olympics

Evanston, IL - Wilmette police officer James Pasquesi says he knew he was in for an uncomfortably brisk beach experience Sunday when he saw volunteers knocking holes in the ice off of Evanston 's Clark Street beach and throwing sheets of it onto the beach.  He and five other Wilmette Police Department members were waiting to plunge into the frigid water as part of the 2018 Lake Michigan Polar Plunge fundraising event, raising money for Illinois Special Olympics.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
