may seem odd at first glance that First Baptist Church of West Third Avenue is
still decorated with Christmas trees. But look closely and you’ll not see
lights and ornaments, but 144 envelopes to support an upcoming youth mission
trip to Belize. The idea came about a
few years ago when church members and youth group parents brainstorming for a
unique fundraiser for the Belize mission. The concept? It’s
simple. Families and individuals select a number from one of several trees
located throughout the building ranging from dollar amounts of $1 and $144. The
fundraiser makes an impact visually and could yield over to $10,000 financially
