Friends of Sabino Canyon Music Festival Fundraiser

Tucson, AZ - Friends of Sabino Canyon have big expectations for Saturday’s 18th annual Music in the Canyon festival.  The event’s chairman said the goal is to double attendance from last year, from 1,500 to 3,000 people.  Friends’ secret weapon: American Authors, the indie rock band from Brooklyn, N.Y., known for its wildly popular 2013 single “Best Day of My Life.”  This is the first year that Music in the Canyon has enlisted such a high-profile touring act to perform. The band’s debut, full-length album, “Oh, What a Life,” featuring “Best Day” came out on Tuesday. “We booked them two months ago, we were so lucky to get them when we did. Laser Tag Fundraising Event to Benefit St. Jude's

Utica, NY - Rebecca Jones’ elementary-school-age children Max, Sally and Cooper love to sell rubber band bracelets, their artwork, lemonade, even Halloween candy to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in memory of their brother, Sam. Their efforts to support St. Jude led to the creation of a special kids’ oriented Laser Tag event held on Feb. 27 at Zap Zone Fun Center in Utica. “They are very aware of what I do when we do fundraisers, especially ones they can’t come to like the golf outing and stuff like that,” Jones said. “We had a bowling fundraiser one year, but we needed to do a kids’ one because they really are starting to understand it now.”  www.fundraising-ideas.org
