Links, Incorporated is a friendship and service organization for black women in
the Las Vegas area. The annual White Christmas Jazz Luncheon and Fashion Extravaganza
fundraiser held this year at the Gold Coast was impressive. The 500-plus crowd
filled the hotel-casino's Nevada Ballroom, and each person seemed to know that
this particular luncheon fashion show was actually a first-class fundraising gala.

— Hegins Valley Fire Rescue’s newest fundraising stream may be flowing from the
end of a paintbrush. In an era where
volunteer fire companies search for funding complements to traditional dinners
and raffles, this department at Schuylkill County’s west end has launched a creative
way to churn up revenue, with a wine and painting session evening for
charity. The department’s first Paint
and Enjoy Wine event was a hit in November and, this year, the department’s

Palm Beach, FL - The idea that “it takes a village” to raise a
child has taken on a new meaning through the work of Anne’s Night. Last year,
Steve Weiss and Sally Slater put together a fundraising dinner in memory of
Anne Heyman, an equestrian who founded the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in
Rwanda. This year, Anne’s night also will benefit Uryadi’s Village, an
orphanage in Ethiopia founded by another equestrian named Jennifer Crooks. The
benefit will take place on Jan. 9 at Double H Farm in Wellington. The two
villages feed, nurture and educate hundreds of children. The equestrian
community has come together to honor the memory of Anne and protect her amazing
