Former Philippines President in Atlanta for Fundraiser for Typhoon Relief



Atlanta, GA — A former president of the Philippines, who has family in metro Atlanta, held a fundraising event Friday night to raise money in the ongoing relief effort to assist victims of the November 2013 typhoon disaster in the Philippines.  Typhoon Haiyan, known as Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, was the strongest and deadliest typhoon to hit the Southeast Asia nation. As of January 2014, the death toll exceeded 6,000 and bodies are still being found.  "The recovery process will take years. There are more than a million victims of Yolanda," said Former President of the Republic of the Philippines Fidel Valdez Ramos.   www.fundraising-ideas.org
