Harry Potter Themed Fundraiser Break Records at SHS.

Syracuse, NY—After 14 hours at school and an exhaustive end to two weeks of Harry Potter-themed fundraising, Syracuse High student body officer Taylor Cella said she shed tears of joy with fellow students after totaling up more than $10,000 to go to needy families this Christmas.  Each year Syracuse High does a holiday fundraiser, but this year was different. The community had helped students and affected families heal from the loss of four students this year, so students wanted to give back more. Even rival schools like Davis, Clearfield and West Lake High Schools and business owners throughout the state helped by offering donations and letters of encouragement to the student body. Last year the school set a new record for themselves with $8,000 in donations over a three-week time-frame. This year they smashed that record in only two weeks, thanks to some generosity and some friendly competition.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
