Detroit, MI - The
Meadow Brook Theatre has one goal for its upcoming Black Tie on the Blacktop
fundraiser and concert — “Continuing to raise the bar of the arts we produce,”
according to Artistic Director Travis Walter.
The benefit, which takes place Saturday at the theater on the Oakland
University Campus, is a first for Meadow Brook and is designed to “get forward
into our 50th anniversary,” Walter says. The evening includes a strolling
dinner with food from Buddy’s Pizza, Lelli’s, Whole Foods, Mitchell’s
Fishmarket, Busch’s Market and others. Tommy James — hitmaker of “Mony Mony”
and “Crimson and Clover” — performs at 8 p.m., and the night also includes a
silent auction, book signing and car show. www.fundraising-ideas.org
