Crazy Hat Day and Mini-Relay Fundraisers at Middle School Net Money for Cancer Research

Albuquerque, NM - Still dealing with the side effects of a successful battle with cancer, a Lincoln Middle School teacher catalyzed school fundraising efforts that netted more than $1,600 for cancer research and patient support services. Under Blagrave’s leadership, the school’s National Junior Honor Society chapter raised $142 with a “Crazy Hat Day,” when students could pay $1 to wear a hat inside.  The student council organized a “mini-relay,” where students could pay $5 to get out of class and walk around the school track for an hour in honor of someone who had fought or was fighting cancer.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
