The Talents of St. Mark Fundraising Idea a Huge Success

Rockford, IL - It's called "The Talents of St. Mark," a fundraiser unlike anything the church has ever done before.  Back in October, Pastor Hagen gave 60 of his congregates a total of $3,000.  He challenged them to think of creative ways to multiply that money based on a bible story from the Gospel of Matthew.  Members used their dollars wisely.  "We had church events, garage sales, people baked things, one guy detailed cars."  There were also craft fairs held and four couples even put on a dinner-theater event at the church.  And it paid off.  Church members ended up raising a total of $20,000, nearly seven times what they started out with.  St. Mark divided that up between three nonprofit organizations, including PAWS Humane Society, an animal shelter.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
