A Very Chilly Chili Golf Open Fundraiser in Wisconsin

Phillips, WI - The 2015 installation of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice’s Chili Golf Open Fundraiser was a big hit, both with participants and in terms of the amount of money brought in for the organization.“Overall, we raised over $18,000, and that’s a new high for us,” said Beth Hahn, financial manager for Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.  Around 140 golfers headed out to the snow-covered “greens” on Phillips’ Long Lake for the organization’s major annual fundraiser.  As in past years, the most outrageously dressed golfers also received a special honor along with gift certificates; the IAP ladies, decked out in sombreros and other fiesta-ready attire, and the Bank Robbers, set to steal the show with their stripped get-ups, won the event category this time around.  Twenty chili chefs entered their finest interpretations of the cold weather comfort food in the 2015 contest, and four additional community members donated pots of the dish to help feed all golfers and others stopping in for the event.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
