Amatuers Join Local Celbrities on Stage at Playhouse Fundraiser

Flat Rock, NC - Local celebrities will debut their newly learned acting skills while competing for a cause in “Theatre with the Stars!”, a fundraising event on Saturday at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown.  Ashley Pirsig, director of development for the Flat Rock Playhouse, said her inspiration for the event stemmed from the TV show “Dancing with the Stars.”  “Since the playhouse really isn't about dancing, I thought we could change the model to 'Theatre of the Stars' and partner local celebrities with our artists for a performing arts competition,” Pirsig said. “This event is a really fun way to raise money and awareness, not just for the playhouse but for other local nonprofits.”  www.fundraising-ideas.org
