Recycling Fundraising Event Gets Bigger Every Year

Granby, MA - Andrea Kennedy hopes that the semi-annual Recycling Day planned will become a Granby fundraising tradition drawing participants from neighboring towns. Six groups are participating; The Parent Teacher Organization is collecting clothing. Granby Girl Scout Troop 40067 will accept nonperishable food items. Granby Cub Scout Pack 34 and Boy Scout Troop 306 will collect bottles and cans to benefit their organizations and the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield.  The East Meadow Student Council will be collecting movies, video games and books for exchange or donation to benefit the PTO.  The MacDuffie Parent Association will collect appliances and electronics for a small fee ranging from $5 to $20. They will take broken and unwanted air conditioners, washers, dryers, refrigerators, handheld electronics, computers and televisions. The Granby Athletic Association will collect gently used sports equipment such as soccer and baseball cleats, shin guards and high-top basketball sneakers. www.fundraising-ideas.org
